Vigo Cellars is a family-owned, boutique winery dedicated to the crafting of Rhône inspired wines from select vineyards on the Central Coast. Dan and Kim Rodrigues launched Vigo Cellars in 2008 with a single vineyard Syrah from the Avila Valley in the San Luis Obispo County appellation. In May 2017, the brand became an official California bonded winery. Rhône wines include: 2017 Grenache Blanc, 2016 Viognier, 2017 Rosé (Grenache), 2016 Grenache and the 2015 Syrah. A limited production 2016 Verdelho and 2014 Zinfandel complete the portfolio.
Named “Vigo” as a tribute to the Rodrigues family, who originate from the Galicia region of northwest Spain, the brand embodies the spirit of adventure. With a journey that began in Spain, with travels to Argentina, the Hawaiian islands and San Francisco, the family settled in the San Joaquin Valley in the 1940's where they farm almonds and vineyards. Three generations later we are continuing this sense of adventure and stewardship to the land with Vigo Cellars – artisan crafted wines from the Central Coast of California.
