Tablas Creek Vineyard, founded in the limestone-rich hills of Paso Robles’ Adelaida District by the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas of Vineyard Brands, is dedicated to organically farmed wines from grape varieties traditional to France’s Rhone Valley. The partners imported the traditional varietals grown on the Perrins’ celebrated estate, including Mourvèdre, Grenache Noir, Syrah, and Counoise for reds, and Roussanne, Viognier, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, and Picpoul Blanc for whites. These imported vines passed a rigorous 3-year USDA testing program, were propagated and grafted in our on-site nursery, and used to plant both our organic estate vineyard and many other elite Rhone producers in California, Washington, and beyond.
At Tablas Creek, our farming and winemaking are designed to maximize the expression of place in our wines. We've been certified organic since 2003 and transitioning to biodynamic, with our own flock of sheep, alpacas, and donkeys, since 2010. In the cellar, we use large neutral barrels, native yeast fermentation, and judicious blending to achieve wines of balance, intensity, and terroir.
We offer a full tasting of our Rhône-style wines daily from 10:00AM to 5:00PM in our tasting room. Complimentary daily tours of the vineyard and cellar depart daily at 10:30AM and 2:00PM. A seated Collector's Tasting is available by advance reservation, where guests can taste winery-exclusive and library wines in our private room.
