Over 45 years ago, Sierra Vista pioneered the way for the Sierra Foothills when it planted its first vineyard in 1974. The topography, soils and altitudes in our vineyard create varied micro climates consistent with some of the best known grape growing regions of the world including Côtes du Rhône, Bordeaux and Burgundy. The winery opened in 1977 as one of the first El Dorado County wineries in modern day history and has been creating award winning wines for years. Today, we focus on the legacy of our premium grapes together with fine artesian wine making to produce our quality hand crafted wines.
Many of our estate wines are from ancient own rootstock with some lineage tracing to the French regions of Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage. In addition to our estate wines, we also feature other varietals from around the world, hand crafted in our facility that are nicely balanced wines between fruit, acid and tannins.
When you visit our estate, you’ll enjoy acres of rolling vineyards and picturesque views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We are only 15 minutes off Highway 50 and feature a family-friendly atmosphere, a tasting room, an event room and numerous year-round events that are sure to excite.
