May 9, 2016 (Paso Robles, CA) – The Rhone Rangers are pleased to announce their upcoming tastings and new venues in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The San Francisco event is set for June 10-11 at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio, marking a return to the city by the bay. The two-day event begins with the annual winemaker dinner and auction where rare wine and unique lifestyle lots will be offered to the highest bidder on Friday (6/10) evening. Saturday (6/11) begins with a seminar featuring Syrah moderated by Sunset wine editor Sara Schneider, followed by the trade/media, VIP and grand tasting, which will feature over 60 wineries.
“Bringing the annual Bay Area event back to San Francisco is very important to us,” said Barbara Smith, president of the Rhone Rangers, “This city of wine and food aficionados has a deep appreciation for American Rhone wines.”
The annual Los Angeles event is also moving to a new venue, the Skirball Cultural Center. The August 6 event will feature a seminar and grand tasting in a larger event space, accommodating more wine lovers.

Winemaker Reception, Dinner and Auction
Winemakers will pull out library wines and barrel samples for the reception and dinner catered by girl & the fig. The auction features rare and unique ‘Rhone-centric’ trips, wines and adventures. The Lifetime Achievement award, honoring a distinguished member of the wine community, will be awarded at the dinner and auction. Tickets are limited to the first 180 persons. Reception begins at 5 pm with dinner at 7 pm.

Saturday Pass
Saturday begins with a seminar, Pushing the Limits of Syrah, moderated by Sunset wine editor, Sara Schneider. A panel of winemakers will take you on an in-depth journey of Syrah, showcasing exciting examples of this noble grape. Seminar begins at 11 am followed by VIP early admission to the Grand Tasting for all Saturday Pass holders.
VIP Grand Tasting – Membership has its privileges especially when it comes to VIP status at the Rhone Rangers San Francisco event. In addition to an early start to the tasting of more than 60 Rhone wineries, VIP ticket holders will have access to a special lounge area featuring unique wines, appetizers and seating. VIP guests may enter at 1:30 pm.
Grand Tasting General Admission – Enjoy the annual celebration of American Rhone wines during the Grand Tasting. Enjoy wines from more than 60 Rhone Rangers wineries from 2:30 – 5:30 pm.
